The Bike General was launched in 2013 by Ciaran O’Hara, a professional mechanic, endurance rider and cycling polymath. With decades of experience, Ciaran and his team set up the workshop to pass on their own wealth of knowledge and hands-on technical experience to Derry and the surrounding areas.

In the years that have followed, the service has grown to be known and respected as a competitive, knowledgeable and unique service for cyclists. The General provides mechanical services, bicycle ts and refurbs, which all sit comfortably alongside the company passion for cycle coaching and imparting wisdom to new and experienced riders alike.

The Bike General has become something of a hub for the cycling community of Ireland’s beautiful North West, welcoming enquiries of all sorts, which has cemented the business reputation both locally and for cycle tourists from all walks of life. Ciaran’s commitment means he treats every bike like it is his own and the attention to detail allows delivery of a premium service which is carried out with pride.
